After School Programming
Yeshivat Yavneh offers unique and fun after-school programming for students that is designed to engage kids in a short period of time while still leaving them with a concrete understanding of important concepts in science, movement, sports, and creativity. Please see below for some of the classes we offer:
Amusement Park Legos: Step into the gates, strap on your seatbelt, and come join the Egghead Amusement Park Engineering Team! Each class, Eggheads will try to pass a new LEGO™ engineering challenge by designing, building, and then testing crazy rides and attractions. Using a wide variety of LEGO™ bricks and specialty pieces, we'll build huge spinning Merry-Go-Rounds, Mega Ferris Wheels, Water Slides, Drop Towers, and everything in between as we design giant Amusement Parks! Then, we'll test our creations like a real theme park engineering team by spinning, sliding, and breaking down our builds. At the end of the session, they’ll receive their official Park Engineer Degree - proving they’re ready to build the toughest challenges!
Fiber Arts: Come join us in the wonderful world of Fiber Arts. We will explore traditional fibers like wool, cotton, acrylic as well as plarn - yarn made of plastic bags. We will dye wool with kool-aid and then felt it by hand. We’ll be finger knitting, making Pom-poms and felted flowers, upcycling old wool sweaters and more. Each class students will make a new and exciting project that they can wear, play with, or gift!
Sports Club: Each week the students will engage in a variety of exciting and fun sports and games. Some include soccer, dodgeball, beachball kickball and much more. Students will also improve their hand-eye, and foot-eye coordination skills.
Ballet: An enjoyable, skill-building class for your budding ballerina. Specialized, engaging curriculum for early childhood age students. Floor stretches, center barre warmups, across the floor, choreography, fundamental ballet positions and genuine French terminology included!
