Jennifer Spellman

Jennifer Spellman has her Masters in Education from City University of New York, her NY State Teaching Certification, as well as her BA in English Literature from Marist College. Jennifer recently completed training in Special Education Law and Advocacy and is currently pursuing a second Masters in Educational Therapy at California State University at Northridge. Prior to relocating to Los Angeles, Jennifer served as an Academic Intervention Specialist and Literacy Coach for the New York City Department of Education. After arriving in Los Angeles, she went on to act as Upper School Director at Wildwood School, Lower & Middle School Director at Westmark School, and Academic Support Services Coordinator at Milken School. Jennifer has a wide range of skills including implementation of special learning plans and accommodations for students with learning differences, parent and teacher training, coordination of support services, design of middle school remedial reading, literacy and language arts curriculum, and supporting students in developing executive functioning skills. Jennifer is trained in remedial reading techniques and programs including LindaMood Bell, as well as writing programs such as Step Up to Writing, Jane Schaffer Method, and University of Kansas writing methods.
